Hint: complete your look with crazy hair and accessories! You never know what kind of photo ops you may have, especially during our live events!

We will give awards to:

  • Most miles walked – 1 per grade level (total of 6 winners). Track your miles here.
  • Craziest hair/ accessories – more details here
  • Grade level that walks the most miles

Why do we need a Walkathon?

Without reaching our fundraising goal, we risk losing a significant portion of our GSAs, Technology staff, and PTA programs for our children. Find out more about how Medina PTA uses the funds here.

What is a walkaThon?

Walkathons are fundraising events, where participants collect donations to the organization by encouraging their supporters to pledge a fixed amount in exchange for their commitment to walk a certain distance. Walkathons are also wonderful community building events, where everyone comes together to contribute to the common goal.

Has Medina held WalkAthons in the past?

Yes! Our Medina Tigers had a blast during past Walkathons. As part of them, we:

  • Got creative with “crazy” hair styles
  • Showcased our school spirit by creating big class banners
  • Ran around in circles in our football field (rain or shine!) to collect money for Medina Elementary
  • Raised, on average, ~$50K to support GSAs, technical support, and special educational programming

But wait, didn't we have a danceathon at some point?

Losing our football field due to reconstruction a few years ago didn’t discourage us from moving for our school! Instead of walking, we danced and earned much needed funds to support Medina Elementary!

Do you have any suggestions for where to walk?

Sure. Try these nearby locations:

  • Runners Club (ORANGE GLITTER ROUTE in Medina) - 2 miles. View the map.
  • Runners Club (BLUE GLITTER ROUTE in Enatai and Beaux Arts) - 2.3 miles. View the map.
  • Points Loop Trail - 5.4 miles. Map
  • Medina Park (Outer-most loop) - 0.4 miles
  • Bellevue Downtown Park Loop - 0.5 miles
  • Bridle Trails (Coyote Trail) - 3.5 miles
  • Bridle Trails (Trilliam Trail) - 1.7 miles
  • Bridle Trails (Raven Trail) - 1 mile
  • Mercer Slough Nature Park
  • Kelsey Creek Park
